Exclusive Artwork Collaboration

Derwent are proud to be collaborating with Europe’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust, to launch the Riverlands Collection: five fine art sets. All five sets are collectable, featuring illustrations by Illustrator and Derwent Artist Ambassador, Claudine O’Sullivan. The illustrations are inspired by rivers and landscapes in the National Trust’s care and the species that call these places home, including otters, kingfishers, and dragonflies.

All five sets are perfect for creating art at any of over 500 places in the National Trust's care, or at home. Compact and practical, the sets are the embodiment of art on the move, allowing individuals to explore and capture nature. Each set is an essential, high-quality toolkit for all, from professional artists to creatives who are just getting started.

Environmentally conscious

Not only is the collection sustainably sourced and packaged in recyclable materials, 10% of each product sold (a minimum of £10,000) will be going towards the National Trust's Riverlands Conservation programme. Our aim is to help restore a healthy environment within rivers and protect wildlife, with specific focus on the River Derwent.

Working to restore a healthy, beautiful and natural environment

Rivers are a vital source of life for the wildlife and landscapes that surround them, they are facing pressures from climate change, flooding and development. To help protect some of these landscapes, the National Trust has launched Riverlands; an ambitious, long-term programme of work to restore these environments and help protect the wildlife that calls them home. The project will be funded by National Trust supporters and likeminded partners.

With Derwent’s foundation deeply rooted in the Lake District, we welcome this opportunity to care for the environment and support the delivery of the National Trust’s Riverlands project.

FAQs

The Riverlands project addresses one of the many challenges facing nature in the UK, an ambitious waterways project which will support rivers ranging from the Derwent in Cumbria to the narrow streams of Porlock Vale in Somerset. Restoring rivers and the wildlife that sit alongside them, promoting nature-friendly faming; providing opportunities for people to reconnect with nature, and engaging with local communities.
One of the key locations of the National Trust’s Riverlands Project is the River Derwent in the Lake District. Derwent are deeply rooted in the Lake District, where we have been creating pencils since 1916. We welcome the opportunity to support the delivery of the Riverlands project to care for the environment we call home.

10% of each product sold (a minimum of £10,000) from the Derwent and National Trust Riverlands Collection will go to the River Derwent programme, part of National Trust’s Riverland’s Project - a national conservation programme to restore a healthy environment within rivers and protect wildlife.

Five collectable sets are available as part of the Derwent and National Trust Riverlands Collection. Featuring exclusive illustrations by artist Claudine O'Sullivan, the product artworks were created with pencils from the Derwent and National Trust Riverlands Collection, using each set’s distinctive colour palette.
