Entries for the 2022 Derwent Art Prize has now closed 


The Derwent Art Prize is a global art competition and exhibition. Open to artists from around the world, the Prize rewards excellence by showcasing the very best 2D & 3D artworks created in pencil or coloured pencil as well as water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal.

🏆 There will be £12,500 in prizes, including a First Prize of £4,000 plus a year’s supply of Derwent products.

The selected artworks will be shown in an exhibition at the OXO Gallery, in central London, from 24 February to 6 March 2022.

The judging panel includes artist Charmaine Watkiss and Paul Hobson, Director of Modern Art Oxford.

✏️ The Derwent Art Prize accepts works in black or coloured pencil as well as water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal.

Tuesday 4 January 2022 (5pm GMT) - Deadline for entry
Monday 17 January 2022 - Artists notified of selectors' decision
Tuesday 1 February 2022 - Voting for the People's Choice Award opens
7 - 19 February 2022 -  Delivery by post/courier to Art Moves of Chelsea
17 & 19 February 2022 - Delivery in person to Art Moves of Chelsea, 12 noon to 3pm
Wed, 23 February 2022 - Private View and Announcement of winners (6pm)
24 Feb-6 March 2022 - Exhibition opens to public at the Gallery@OXO in London
Sun, 6 March 2022 - Voting for the People's Choice Award closes (6pm)
